Model Predictive Control (04M10-2-PT50)

During the winter term 2014 the lecture on Model Predictive Control will be offered in the module Specialised supplement. The lecture aims at master students Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, but is open for all interested students.
 
Content of the lecture:
 
Model predictive control is a methodology to compute a feedback controller for both linear and nonlinear systems via online optimization methods. Due to it's flexibility, this method allows for the probably largest class of practical applications regarding modern control approaches. Here, we discuss theoretical, numerical as well as practical aspects.

Dynamics in Logistics - Basics for Multidisciplinary Approaches (04-M10-L-PT50)

During the winter term 2014 the course Dynamics in Logistics - Basics for Multidisciplinary Approaches will be offered. The course is intended for all master students Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen in the teaching project module.
 
Description of the course:
 
Each participant does, along with a supervisor, a research project. The project should fit the topic and needs to be completed within the specified period. The project is evaluated based on the project handling, a presentation on the findings as well as a written final report. There will be discussions with the respective supervisor regularly. Forum for the presentation is the Interdisciplinary Research Colloquium of the IGS, which will be held every Thursday morning.

During the winter term 2014 the lecture Modeling, Analysis, and Control of Dynamics in Logistics will be offered. The course is intended to all master students Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen in Modulbereich 1 and for all master students Produktionstechnik (Industrial Management) as compulsory subject choice.
 
Description of the course:
 
The course aims to lead students to the current research frontier in the field of logistics. It focuses on the dynamics of logistics systems and is divided into the following points:
 
1. Overview of logistics systems and processes
2. Dynamic models at different aggregation levels
3. Queuing theory and models
4. Discrete-Event Simulation
5. Discrete-time flow models and system analysis
6. Controller design and continuous flow models
7. Topology of the modeling approaches
